Appendix 1, The Great Elven Rift

When Eli first created the Elves, he bestowed in them their love for nature and a pure goodness in their hearts. Eli's fellow Immortal, Loth, could not create a sentient race on her own. Everything she attempted turned on itself, as evil tends to do. As the Elven people were already established and thriving, Loth believed (and rightly so) that she could lure some of them away, and have them do her bidding.

With the Elven people, the females tended to be dominated by the stronger males. Although it was not a suffocating domination, it was there nonetheless. The males hunted and ran through the forests, while the females did most of the work in their villages. Loth saw this small flaw as a means to get what she wanted.

While in Elven form, she approached a large group of some of the unhappy females. After gaining their confidence, she convinced them that female Elves were meant to rule, not the males. Showing great feats of dark magic, her story was quite convincing. At this time, the males of the village were away on a hunting expidition, one that took them far to the south. This group of females, later to be known as the Dark Matriarchs, followed Loth to a large cave that was approximately one hundred miles from their village. They numbered 44. Forty-four Elven females who would change the world's racial balance.

After the group left the village, only about 1200 Elves were left. Of that 1200, about half were females, the rest were children and young males who could not hunt, and older males who were protecting the village. The leader of the village, Menlotoriu, was away with hunting party. When the absent females were noticed to indeed be gone, the elder males in the village decided to wait until their leader returned before setting on any course of action, as they had no clue to what happened.

During their stay in the large cave that Loth led them to, they learned how to cast magical spells of the darkest magiks. They prayed to the dark Goddess, not knowing that she was residing in the same cave. The females began worshipping all types of spiders, as the dark Goddess had decreed that they be sacred. The females became terribly powerful, casting magic spells that no mortal had yet to witness.

About two months after the corrupted females left, Menlotoriu and the rest of the hunting party returned. They were not greeted with cheers, usual with the returning of a successful hunting trip, but with whispers and worried looks. Quickly taking charge, Menlotoriu assembled 200 of his finest warriors and struck out, tracking the rogue females to their cave. In his absence, Menlotoriu left his brother, Roheniu, in charge.

When they were perhaps five miles from the cave, the Menlotoriu's group noticed that the temperature had risen significantly. Moving on, they approached the cave. However, they assumed, errantly, that the females were just lost or something inane like that. They had no idea what was really transpiring.

The group of females, all dressed in black, as decreed by their dark Goddess, watched the approaching group with an almost incomprehensible glee. However, they quickly realized that their newfound friend, the Elven-Loth, had vanished. They panicked a bit, but were still determined to not let the incoming group overwhelm them.

The acknowledged leader of the females, a diminutive elven maiden named Kiryua Sandrax, walked out to meet Menlotoriu and his fellows. Needless to say, Menlotoriu was severly surprised to see Kiryua. She ordered him to kneel in front of her and pay homage to Loth. He of course refused. She then summoned a deadly 'Widow Kiss' spell, granted to her from Loth, and blew the 'kiss' into Menlotoriu's face. After about two minutes of screaming and tearing at his skin, Menlotoriu died in agony. The other males, shocked at the casting of the spell, now exploded into movement, attacking Kiryua and all of the other females who had gathered behind her. The battle, mercifully, was very short. At the bitter end, only 1/2 of the males were left alive, and suprisingly to the males, none of the females had died. They were totally unprepared for Loth's fury. The females ordered the beaten males to build a large fire, then to burn their slain comrades.

After the slaughter, the females led their new slaves away from the area, stopping after about two hundred miles. The male slaves were ordered to build large abodes, one for each of the females. Each female picked two males and had them attend to them personally. There they lived for many years, practicing their dark magiks, hidden from the other races.

When the warrior party did not return to the Elven village, Roheniu himself took about thirty fighters and went looking for them. He found the site of the slaughter, but could not track the survivors. It was if some- one or something had effectivly covered up their escape. He returned to the village, heart-broken and full of questions.
