There are several ability scores which are chosen when you create your player character. It is important to chose these scores with care as they will determine a lot about your character with regards to your guild choices, language learning ability, spell learning ability, and much, much more. The following is a list of the ability scores.
Strength measures a character's muscle, endurance, and stamina. A player with a high strength score will be able to carry more weight, inflict more damage, and be able to open doors and move obstacles with ease.
Intelligence represents a player's memory, reasoning, and learning ability. Higher level spells are only attainable to those players with exceptional Intelligence. This ability is often checked when casting those spells as well. A high Intelligence may also let a person see through llusions.
Wisdom describes a composite of the character's enlightenment, judgment, guile, willpower, common sense, and intuition. It can affect the player's resistance to magical attack.
Dexterity encompasses several physical attributes including hand-eye coordination, agility, reaction speed, reflexes, and balance. Dexterity affects a character's reaction to a threat or surprise, his or her accuracy with ranged weapons, and his or her ability to dodge an enemy's blows.
A player's Constitution score encompasses his or her physique, fitness, health, and physical resistance to hardship, injury, and disease. Since this ability affects the player's hit points and chance of surviving tremendous shocks, it is vitally important to everyone. A higher Constitution score allows you to gain hit points faster and in higher jumps of gain.
The Charisma score measures a character's persuasiveness, personal magnetism, and ability to lead. This ability is used when you deal with merchants to decide the price of the item being haggled. Other creatures may act unfavorably to you if you have a low Charisma score.
